North Kitsap blanks North Mason
The North Kitsap High girls tennis team shut out North Mason High Monday, 7-0.
Singles: Sarah Farmer (NK) def. Anne Gower (NM) 6-2, 6-2. Stephanie Bird (NK) def. Misha Orchard (NM) 6-2, 6-0. Ashton Asquith (NK) def. Tiffany Nelson (NM) 6-2, 6-1.
Doubles: Kelsey Grunigen/Bryana Bohl (NK) def. Ashley Rowland/Lacey Schauburger (NM) 6-0, 6-3. Ana Yee/Taylor Skansi (NK) def. Katrina Martin/Lexie Zeunick (NM) 6-1, 6-2. Julia Hoak/ Georgia Suter (NK) def. Zhara Hess/Holly Bean (NM) 6-2, 6-1. Maegan McClanahan/Emily Cauter (NK) def. Karissa Lueber/Emily Satran (NM) 6-1, 4-6, 6-1.
North Kitsap plays its next match at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Klahowya Secondary School in Silverdale.
BASEBALL
Kingston tops Port Angeles
The Kingston High boys baseball team defeated Port Angeles High Monday, 14-3, in Kingston. Matt Ramstead recorded the win for the Buccaneers, who improved to 8-2 overall. Tyler Klopp got the save. Rico LeMay led Kingston, going 3-for-3 with four RBI. Stephen Gorman had his first home run of the season and went 2-for-3 with two RBI. The next game for the Buccaneers is at 4 p.m. Wednesday, when they host Bremerton High.
