The North Kitsap Comets, a boys U13 team from the North Kitsap Soccer Club, leaves March 23 for a trip to England. Comets head coach Pip Thompson and his wife, Carolyn, both grew up in England and still have family there. While abroad, the team will tour the country and play five friendly matches against local English teams. The boys will also spend a day training with the Fulham premiere team and attend Fulham’s game versus Wigan. The trip was paid for in large part by Marion Sluys of Sluys Bakery in Poulsbo, and by money raised at a rummage sale. Two students from an African school that Sluys sponsors will also join the team in England.
