3 REDNECK TENORS IN BREMERTON
These three tenors — Billy Joe, Billy Bob and Billy Billie — near completely nullify all the pretentious stereotypes often associated with the classical music hall. It’s blue collar opera; musical theater with a mullet.
“Our cousin Billy Beethoven wrote this one for us, and it’s called ‘5,’” Billy Joe introduces Beethoven’s Fifth.
On an unlikely journey from their “mobile music studio” in the Starlite trailer park in Paris, Texas, the three singing cousins travel from cutoff T-shirts to tuxedos under the contractual guidance of their manager, The Colonel — all the way to the prestigious “Carn-iggy Hall” in New York City.
“Let me sum this up,” Billy Billie says. “Trailer park. Billy Ray dies. Colonel comes. We sing a bunch of places … Carnegie Hall.”
“I’m gonna say: Chicken. Biscuits. Grits. Singing … beans, pie, beans. The end,” Billy Bob adds.
“And beer,” Billy Joe notes, “lots of beer.”
It’s all happening at 8 p.m., April 18 at the Admiral Theatre, 331 Pacific Ave. in Bremerton.

GALLETTA’S ‘CINDERELLA’
While not your typical telling of “Cinderella,” this is absolutely a Cinderella story.
A Galletta School of Dance and Performing Arts production, the show was completely choreographed and characterized by the Poulsbo dance troupe’s teachers and students, based on, though not relegated to, the framework of the classic fairy tale.
“It’s a very farcical version of it,” Company owner Lynn Galletta said. “The Fairy Godmother’s got an apprentice that kind of gets in the way sometimes, and the Step Sisters are really whacked out in this one. We’re having a really fun time.”
They’re calling it “Cinderella’s Glass Slipper,” showcasing Galletta dancers across the spectrum.
But more so than the magical creatures, the pumpkin carriage or the even the glass slipper, what makes this such a Cinderella story is Galletta’s journey to owning her own studio. From a rigid background of ballet school and professional dance, in running her own company, Galletta said she’s come to re-realize the importance of having fun.
Performances will be this weekend only, 7:30 p.m. April 17-18 with a matinee at 1:30 p.m. April 19 at the North Kitsap Auditorium up from Highway 305 on Hostmark Street in Poulsbo.
