A 25 year-old Arlington man is being held in custody on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, following an alleged shooting incident Aug. 10 in Little Boston, according to a release from the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Department.

The incident occurred outside of a residence in the 31000 block of Little Boston Road NE on the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribal Reservation. No injuries were reported in conjunction with the assault, according to the release.

Sheriff’s patrol deputies responded to the reservation around 11:35 p.m. Sunday to assist Port Gamble tribal police officers in locating a vehicle that was reported to be involved in the shooting. As Port Gamble officers continued their investigation, a suspect was identified. The suspect is not a tribal member and sheriff’s deputies have begun a concurrent investigation.

The victims are two men, ages 24 and 25, and a 28 year-old woman, all residents of the S’Klallam reservation, according to the sheriff’s department.

The suspect’s vehicle was described as a newer, black Cadillac with tinted windows and chrome wheels, reported to be occupied by the suspect along with the suspect’s wife and her young son. Investigating officers and deputies located two .380 caliber bullet casings in the

roadway at the scene of the shooting. During the investigation, it was indicated the suspect may have been enroute to Snohomish County so sheriff’s deputies contacted the Edmonds Police Department and the suspect’s vehicle was located on the ferry dock in Edmonds, with the identified suspect as the driver. Edmonds police officers detained the driver on probable cause established by Kitsap County Sheriff’s deputies, according to the release.

The suspect is known, casually, to the victims. Victim and witness statements obtained by investigators indicate that the suspect had been visiting earlier in the day, then left, and returned sometime later, allegedly firing gunshots at the victims as they arrived home in their vehicle, according to the sheriff’s department.

A motive for the alleged shooting has not been determined.

Kitsap County Sheriff’s detectives continue the investigation. The suspect is being detained in the Snohomish County Jail pending turnover to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.
