KINGSTON – Two men have been arrested in the murder investigation of a Kingston man. David Robert Adams, age 23, and Jesus Castro De Juan, age 29, both of Bremerton, were booked into Kitsap County Jail Saturday on charges of murder and second-degree possession of stolen property.

Bail is set for each at $1 million for the murder charge and $75,000 for possession of stolen property, according to a written statement from Kitsap County Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Wilson, a spokesman for the department.

Authorities released the name of the victim, Richard Hugh Jones, Jr., age 74, on Friday evening. An autopsy was performed Friday. The cause of death was originally listed as homicidal violence and was changed to strangulation.

Both Adams and De Juan had lived with Jones for several weeks, Wilson stated in the prepared release.

Deputies found hidden in a bedroom closet on Wednesday night, after neighbors asked authorities to conduct a wellness check on the man they hadn’t seen for several days. Jones’ car was missing from his property and was found in Bremerton, a few blocks from one of the suspects’ residences.

The two men were arrested about 10:30 p.m. Friday at a Greyhound terminal in Tacoma. The men were returning from California at the request of deputies.

Adams and De Juan are scheduled for an appearance in Kitsap County Superior Court at 3 p.m. today.
