POULSBO — The North Kitsap Vikings volleyball team is one of the school’s last hope for a state title this season.

The Vikes face the Ridgefield Spudders in the first round of the volleyball tournament Friday (Nov. 15), at 1:30 p.m. at Pierce College, 9401 Farwest Drive, Lakewood.

The Vikes earned the No. 2 seed to State at the West Central District Volleyball Tournament. The Vikings bested Franklin Pierce and Sumner with 3-0 shutouts. They were then defeated 3-0 in the championships by Washington.

The Vikes are one of two teams from the Olympic League to make it to State. The Port Angeles Roughriders earned the No. 5 seed to State, losing to Evergreen, 3-2, and then defeating Franklin Pierce 3-0, and Sequim 3-2.

The Vikes will play either Lynden or West Valley in the second round of the state tournament. If they advance, the Vikes will continue playing Saturday.
