POULSBO — The Kingston Buccaneers and North Kitsap Vikings met for the third time this season on the field, and for the third time the Vikings defeated their cross-town rivals.

The Vikings won 3-0 at North Kitsap Stadium, Nov. 5. The win over the Bucs means a third seed into the District playoffs for the Vikings, and a fourth seed for the Bucs.

The Bucs will face the Lindbergh Eagles at 2 p.m., Nov. 9, at Renton Memorial Stadium in Districts.

Lindbergh finished second in the Seamount League (5-1-1 in league, 11-3-1 overall). The Bucs finished third in the Olympic League (12-4-0, 12-6-0). The Vikings play the Fife Trojans at noon, Nov. 9, at Franklin Pierce High School.

The Trojans finished second in the South Puget Sound League (13-1-0, 14-2-0). The Vikings (16-0-0, 17-1-0) finished first in the Olympic League. They lost their first game of the season Nov. 2 against the Olympic Trojans during the Olympic League Tournament.

Ten teams compete in the District Playoffs Nov. 9. The teams are from the Seamount, South Puget Sound, and Olympic leagues. The games are loser out situations. The five winners advance to the State tournament.

Also vying for the State tournament are the Klahowya Eagles and Olympic Trojans. The two Olympic League teams play at 6 p.m., Nov. 6, for the Olympic League Tournament championship and the No. 1 into the District playoffs.
