Trojans fall to Canadian visitors

It may be known as American football, but last Friday, a team from Canada showed our neighbors to the north are just as familiar with the pigskin. Terry Fox, a team from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, topped the Olympic Trojans in the season opener for both schools 27-13 at Silverdale Stadium.

Joe Patko rushed for 153 yards as the Ravens opened a 21-7 lead at the half. Terry Fox was up 21-0 before Olympic running back Larry Dixon broke a 14-yard touchdown run. Dixon finished with 81 yards, while Nollan Quinn rushed for 29 yards including a 1-yard fourth-quarter score.

Both teams used two quarterbacks, with Chris Groat going 4-for-6 with 14 yards and one pick. Zach Bird was 4-of-9 for 38 yards, also throwing an interception.

The Trojans battled Klahowya last night, but results were unavailable at press time.
