Trio of BlueJackets named to WCL Second Team

Three Kitsap BlueJackets starting pitchers — Trey Watt, Brad Propst and Kyle Hamman — were selected to the 2009 All-West Coast League Second Team, as voted on by WCL coaches.

Hamman, a senior-to-be at Southern Utah University, posted a team-best 1.87 ERA, finishing 4-3 with 33 strikeouts and 17 walks in 62 2/3 innings pitched.

Watt, a senior-to-be at Pacific Lutheran University, finished 6-4 to lead the Jackets in wins. He was second on the team in innings pitched (67), ERA (2.01) and strikeouts (46).

Propst, meanwhile, a senior-to-be at Oklahoma State University, finished with a 2.35 ERA and 55 strikeouts to just seven walks. He was 3-4.

Bucky Aona (Southern Utah), Zach Jacob (Dayton), Chris Escobar (San Francisco) and Kelly Constantini (San Francisco) received honorable mention. No Jackets were named to the First Team.
