Sports updates: Sullivan pitches no hitter for Kingston

BASEBALL

Kingston blazed past Port Angeles Tuesday, as Tyler Sullivan pitched the first no hitter of his high school career, in an 8-0 win. Sullivan is now 4-1 on the season, and the Bucs sit at 7-2 overall, and 7-1 in the Olympic League. Port Angeles comes to Kingston today for a rematch.

SOCCER

Kingston hosted Olympic at Strawberry Field, and came out on top, 2-0. Matt Hust scored the first goal in the second minute, on an assist by Brian Bain, putting the Trojans on guard for the rest of the game. Eduardo Castro sealed the victory with a goal of his own in the 67th minute. Kingston faces North at the NK Stadium Thursday.

FASTPITCH

North Kitsap was topped by Port Angeles Tuesday, 6-1. The Roughriders put up all six of their runs in the second inning.

TENNIS

Kingston beat North Mason Tuesday, 5-2. In singles: Theresa Tucci (KHS) def. Jessica Zevnick 6-1, 6-0. Lacey Shaumberg (NM) def. Austen Turner 6-2, 6-3. Anne Gower (NM) def. Ericka Daniels 6-2, 6-1. LACROSSE

North Kitsap topped South Kitsap in boys lacrosse Tuesday, 10-5. Jake Icard and Brad DeShano each had four goals for North, and goalie Abe McGowan recorded 13 saves.

The North Kitsap girls fell to Klahowya Tuesday, 18-7. Ruthie Hawley of Klahowya led all scorers with 11 goals and two assists. Mallory Glebe led North with three goals.

GOLF

The North Kitsap boys team beat North Mason 52-33 Tuesday. Mitch Woodside shot an 81 for 28 points, including a triple eagle on a par five 14th hole.
