NK girls take top spot at Kitsap County Classic

The North Kitsap girls track team outpaced the competition Saturday at the Kitsap County Classic at South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard with an overall score of 108, while Kingston’s Ruby Roberts won both the 1,600 and 3,200 events. North’s Siara Byers finished first in the 100, with a time of 13.08 seconds, and teammates Kateese Carter and Taylor Ottomano took first and second in the triple jump.

On the boys side, North finished third, while Kingston came in sixth overall. Eric Beisley of North was on top in the triple jump, and teammates Glenn Runnels and Colin Fogerty won the pole vault and shot put, respectively.

Vikings can’t overcome Cougars

At Central Kitsap 1, North Kitsap 0. The Cougars slipped past the Vikings Saturday at Silverdale stadium thanks to a CK free kick by Ryan Hough that ricocheted off a North defender before finding the net in the first half. North was unable to equalize.

Vikings fall to Klahowya, 15-1

The North Kitsap boys lacrosse team lost to Klahowya, 15-1 Friday at Strawberry Field. They play Tuesday at Stadium.
