SOCCER

The North Kitsap Vikings hosted Port Angeles Tuesday at Strawberry Field, and came away with a 6-0 Olympic League victory. North outshot the Roughriders 21-3, and spread the scoring around, with six different players getting goals. Jeremy Dyer recorded the shutout in the net for the Vikings.

The Kingston Buccaneers topped Sequim, 2-0, at North Kitsap Stadium Tuesday, and improved their record to 4-1-0 overall. Spencer Meile got the shutout in goal.

BASEBALL

Kingston held on to win an eight-inning thriller at home Tuesday against Olympic, 12-11. The Bucs jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, which then turned into a 7-3 advantage after three innings, before the Trojans finally edged ahead, 9-8, in the top of the fifth. The Bucs matched Oly in the bottom of the inning, and the two teams traded runs in the sixth and seventh. The Trojans failed to score in the top of the eighth, and Kingston took advantage of the situation as Rueben Smith crossed the plate for the winning run on a wild pitch. Tyler Sullivan recorded the win and a homer, and Smith went 4-for-5 with a homer and two RBI. Kingston is now 4-1 overall.

North Kitsap blew out Port Townsend Tuesday, 10-2, to improve to 4-3 overall. Alex Smith recorded the win, and Andy Smith had two triples. Kevin Stringer led the offense with four RBI.

FASTPITCH

The Vikings topped Port Townsend, 5-2 Tuesday, to get their first Olympic League win of the season. Jordan Chargulauf was credited with the win for North, and teammate Jenneke Oostman struck out nine batters in the final three innings to grab the save. Ashley Marcelino led NK, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Kingston piled up seven runs in the first two innings against the visiting Lady Trojans Tuesday, and hung on for an 8-6 victory. Katie Lomas pitched the first three innings for the Bucs, allowing only two runs, and recorded the win. Lauren Peiguss got the save, pitching the final four innings. Jordan Tapp led the Bucs on offense, going 3-for-3 with a triple, and Lexi Orteza led the Trojans, going 5-for-5.

GOLF

The Kingston boys team lost, 76-30 in a non-league match at Gig Harbor Tuesday. Mike Miller shot a 38 to lead all golfers with 16 points.

The Kingston girls edged past Gig Harbor, 111-108 Tuesday for a non-league victory. Elle Sander led all with 31 points, shooting a 42 on the course.
