Student-Athlete of the Year
The Central Kitsap Reporter is taking nominations for the 2008-09 Student-Athlete of the Year.
Candidates should not only be strong on the field, but in the classroom and around the community as well.
The Central Kitsap Reporter’s 2007-08 Female Student-Athlete of the Year, Carolyn Cross, maintained a 4.0 GPA while carrying the Central Kitsap fastpitch team to the state tournament with a 0.74 ERA.
Klahowya’s Jordan Green and Central Kitsap’s Caleb Brown shared last year’s Male Student-Athlete of the Year honor, each maintaining GPAs above 3.0 while leading their respective baseball teams to successful seasons.

OHS summer track and field camp
Olympic High School is hosting a summer youth track and field camp June 22-26. The camp is open to athletes ages 5 to 18 and is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Camp fee is $50, payable to the Central Kitsap School District (CKSD).

KSS hoops camp
Klahowya Secondary School will host a summer basketball camp June 23-26 for both boys and girls.
The girls sessions are from 2 to 4 p.m. and the boys are from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at KSS. The camp is for players in fifth, sixth and seventh grade. Cost is $35 and covers four days of basketball. The camp will focus on all-around basketball skills — dribbling, passing, defense, shooting and more.
