Lee named Player of the Year

Lee named Player of the Year

Central Kitsap junior Erynne Lee is the Washington State Golf Association’s Girls Junior Player of the Year.

Lee, 16, also was the WSGA Girls Player of the Year in 2008. She advanced to the round of 16 at the U.S. Women’s Amateur and the round of 32 at the U.S. Junior Girls’ Championship. She took first at the American Junior Golf Association Kathy Whitworth Invitational and second at the Junior at the Traditions.

Boys basketball training sessions

High school basketball players are invited to attend training sessions from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 1 and 8 to prepare for the upcoming season.

Each session will consist of skill development and conditioning with 30 minutes of controlled scrimmages. Players may attend as few or as many sessions as they wish.

The sessions, instructed by Rick Walker and Craig Murray, are at Crosspoint Academy (formerly King’s West School), 4012 Chico Way NW in Bremerton. Army-Navy rugby game

The eighth annual Army-Navy rugby game is Nov. 21 and Kitsap will play host. The Kitsap Rugby Football Union is actively seeking military players (Navy, Marine or Coast Guard — active duty or reservist) who would like to be on the Navy team for this event. KRFU is developing a Navy team specifically for this event and practices from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the upper softball fields on Naval Base Kitsap.
