“West Sound baseball tryouts approach The West Sound Baseball Club will have an informational meeting for potential baseball players and their parents for the 2001 baseball season. The meeting will be held from 7-9 p.m. Jan. 9 at the Silverdale Hotel on the Bay. Tryouts will follow on Jan. 20 and 21 from 10 a.m. to noon for 13-15-year-olds, and from 1 to 3 p.m. for 16-18-year-olds. A third tryout will take place Jan. 22 from 6-9 p.m. West Sound Baseball is recruiting for five teams: Teams 13, 14, 15, 16, and Team 18. Soccer award ceremony set The North Kitsap Soccer Club Awards Ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. at the North Kitsap Community Auditorium. Awards and scholarships will be handed out to players. Coaches and teams will also be recognized. Spring soccer registration Spring registration for soccer will be held the first three weeks of this month for full-field play. Registration forms are sent through the mail or are available at Sports Haus, the rec center in Poulsbo, and the Pizza Factory in Kingston. Full-field (U11 and up last fall) will play eight games, one per week, beginning March 11. no games will be scheduled for Easter or Mother’s Day. Mod (U8-U10 last fall) will begin play in mid-April and continue through mid-May, and will play two games per week. Micro U7 players from last fall may play on a U8 team this spring.
