McCarty struck out 11 batters during South Kitsap’s 4-1 win Tuesday against Gig Harbor

Senior right-hander Mac McCarty struck out 11 batters while walking just one to lead South Kitsap to its third consecutive victory, 4-1, on Tuesday against Gig Harbor.

Freshman center fielder Dustin Garcia and classmate Alex Garcia each had two hits for the Wolves (6-5 overall, 3-2 league).

FASTPITCH: Season-high run production not enough for South Kitsap

Freshman Statia Cermak went 3 for 4 with a double, but it was not enough as South Kitsap lost 9-6 on Monday against Timberline in 4A Narrows League play.

Senior right fielder Shelby Reyes also went 2 for 3 with a double for the Wolves (0-3, 0-2). South’s six runs was a season-best.
