South Kitsap led most of the game, but could not make a stop when it needed to as Samantha Williams drove for a game-winning basket to lead Central Kitsap to a 50-49 win Friday in Class 4A Narrows League play.

Kayle Yergeau scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Wolves (9-6 overall, 4-4 league), who continued a four-game road trip Wednesday night at Gig Harbor. South also plays at 7 tonight at Olympia and 7 p.m. Tuesday at Yelm before wrapping up the regular season Thursday night against Stadium.

South Kitsap’s Welch wins league title

Savannah Welch finished first with a score of 545 to help South Kitsap’s girls bowling team to a Class 4A Narrows League title Friday at All Star Lanes in Silverdale.

The Wolves, who scored 3,112 points to outlast second-place Yelm (2,782), advance to Saturday’s district tournament at Pacific Lanes in Tacoma.
