McCarty, Knowles dominant in Wolves’ final two regular-season games

South Kitsap’s baseball team, which went undefeated in Class 4A Narrows League play, can clinch the league’s No. 1 seed entering districts at 4 p.m. today at Lacey’s Regional Athletic Center.

The Wolves, who had a perfect league record for the first time since 2000, will play the winner of the Olympia vs. Gig Harbor contest at 4 p.m. Wednesday. South will enter districts, which begin Tuesday, with no worse than 4A Narrows’ second seed.

Junior Mac McCarty had nine strikeouts in four innings as South defeated Olympic 4-0 in a nonleague game Tuesday to finish the regular season. South (16-4) has not allowed a run in its last three games, including senior Logan Knowles’ no-hitter Friday against Stadium at Tacoma’s Heidelberg Park.

Maddy Watson and Amber Jones each had two hits to help South Kitsap to a 14-3 win Tuesday in its 4A Narrows regular-season finale.The Wolves (9-6 overall, 5-6 league) finished in fifth place in 4A Narrows.

Wolves fall in finale
