SOCCER
Saturday: At Central Kitsap 1, North Kitsap 0. The Cougars slipped past the Vikings Saturday at Silverdale stadium thanks to a CK free kick by Ryan Hough that ricocheted off a North defender before finding the net in the first half.
Tuesday: Kingston topped Port Townsend 3-2, on a last-second goal by Josh Bell in the second overtime. Kingston head coach Craig Smith compared the win to a turning point last year in a similar game at Port Townsend.
Thursday: After two straight losses, North Kitsap hosted Olympic and came out on top, 3-1. Jon Kidder had one goal and one assist in the win, and Chad Offerbacker assisted twice.
“We played pretty well for our first (Olympic League) game,” said NK head coach Chris May. “I was very pleased with our possession and buildup on the attack.”
BASEBALL
Wednesday: Kingston traveled to Bremerton and beat the Knights, 9-2. Austin Overton picked up the win for the Bucs.
FASTPITCH
Monday: Sequim came into Poulsbo and routed North Kitsap, 14-1. “With such a young team we will use it as a learning tool,” said head coach Bill Hobaugh.
Wednesday: Kingston shut out Bremerton, 8-0. Katie Lomas recorded the win, pitching a complete game. Jordan Tapp had a home run and Lauren Carroll went 2-2.
TENNIS
Monday: The Kingston High School tennis team went to Port Townsend to battle a Port Townsend/Chimacum team, and took home a 7-0 win.
Thursday: Bainbridge topped North Kitsap 6-1 Thursday. Darlene Dang earned the Vikings’ only win, in a comeback against Colleen Gruber, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.
LACROSSE
Tuesday: The North Kitsap boys lacrosse team went to Tacoma and took a 20-0 beating at the hands of Stadium.
Thursday: North Kitsap boys lost to Port Angeles, 16-1.
GOLF
Tuesday: The Kingston/North Kitsap girls golf team dominated Klahowya, 92-30 Tuesday. Kingston’s Elle Sander shot a 45, to lead the team with 27 points.
Thursday: Elle Sander led Kingston once again, shooting a 50 for 22 points as KHS/NK sailed past Olympic, 52-37. On the boys side, the Bucs lost to the Trojans, 55-22. Olympic was led by Corry Campbell, who shot a 39 and had 15 points.
