for baseball camp

South Kitsap High School baseball coach Jim Fairweather and former and current players will hold his baseball camp June 27-30 at South Kitsap High School.

There are two camps, one features Little League methods aimed at ages 8-12, while the other is more developed for players who are at least 13 years old.

Registration is available on-line at the high school Web site at the ASB office or when the camp begins. Camp is limited to the first 50 participants that register.

Each camper will get instruction in fundementals of throwing, fielding, running and hitting.

Both camps are $50.

South Kitsap hoop

South Kitsap High School basketballl coach John Callaghan and his staff will hold a summer camp June 23-26 at South Kitsap High School.

Students in fourth through sixth grade compete on those days from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., while seventh through ninth graders work from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The camps are developed to teach individual development of fundamental skills and terminology used by the Wolves.

Registration is limited to the first 50 students in each camp.

Both camps are $50.

Registration forms are available at Buck’s A&W on Mile Hill Drive and at the school.

Former Olympic star

holds wrestling camp

Ozzie Saxon, an assistant coach at Ohio University and 2000 Olympic High School graduate, holds his Technique/Competition Camp June 30 to July 3 at Olympic.

The camp features two sessions, the first from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and the second from noon to 2:30 p.m. each day.

Instruction will focus on takedown techniques, pinning combinations, escapes, riding techniques and other moves.

There won’t be an afternoon session the last day.

The camp is $150 and will be limited to the first 60 applicants.

Registration deadline is June 21.
