NKSD tennis players make all-league

Four tennis players from the North Kitsap School District were recently recognized by their respective leagues.

2A All Olympic League players: Singles, Buccaneer senior Jerol Bird.

3A All Olympic League players: Singles, Viking Zach Fohn; doubles Vikings Jordan Seth and Conner Gallagher.

Parks and Rec winter basketball is on the agenda

Poulsbo Parks and Recreation’s winter seventh- and eight-grade girls basketball is ready to hit the courts. The games are on Sundays, Dec. 7, 14, 21, Jan 4, 11, 18, with an end of the season tournament being held the 24th 25th. A $100 non-refundable deposit is due prior to Dec. 1 for teams to be included in Dec. 7 game schedule. The league plays normal high school rules, 20-minute halves and double headers each Sunday. With enough signups silver and gold divisions will be created. Saturday games can be arranged on a case-by-case basis. Team release forms, individual registrations, due prior to playing any games.

Games will be played in North Kitsap gyms. Cost is $550 per team or $89 for individual signups.

Also, by player request, Poulsbo Parks and Rec is having another adult soccer league, starting Dec 7. With a six game schedule, games will be at the North Kitsap Stadium. Team fee is $475 if paid by Dec 7. All questions and registrations can be handled at Poulsbo Parks and Rec, (360) 779-9898.

Parks and Rec offers Mighty Midget basketball

Poulsbo Parks and Recreation offers preschool basketball classes on Tuesday evenings from 6-7 p.m. and Saturday mornings at the Breidablik Elementary gym. Coaches will use activities to enhance childrens’ understanding of dribbling, shooting and passing, along with other important sports concepts.
