Poulsbo Parks and Rec Summer Sailing

Sailing lessons will be offered again this summer for ages 8-18. Camps will be held at the Port of Kingston next to the boat ramp. There will be seven all-day camps for students 11 and older using a variety of boats, and six short-day camps in the Opti boats for 8- to 12-year-old sailors. Camps start the week of July 7 and continue through the week of Aug 22. Students must have beginner swimming skills and provide their own Coast Guard-approved life jackets. This year’s camp staff will all be returning veterans: Camp Director, Colin Olson and Instructor Katie Deets.

For those interested in competitive sailing, a single week-long camp has been added, Aug. 25-29 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Port of Poulsbo. In addition to the summer sailing camps, community sailing is offered on Wednesdays and some Saturdays at the Port of Poulsbo. A season pass costs $60. For more information or to register contact Poulsbo Parks and Recreation at (360) 779-9898.

The track at the North Kitsap Stadium is also closed. It’s unsafe to be on these fields during construction and the public is reminded not to use them this summer.
