Parks and Rec now forming basketball league for winter

The Poulsbo Parks and Recreation winter recreation basketball league is currently taking registration. Teams are forming for third- through sixth-grade girls and third- through eighth-grade boys.

The league provides consistent practices during the week for the duration of the season, a minimum of nine games per team and team assignments based on player, coach and parent requests. The team assignments are meant to simplify ride shares and enable friends to be on the same team.

The league also guarantees two certified Washington Interscholastic Activities Association referees per game.

The fee is $75 per player, which includes a basketball. Jerseys are an additional $22.

Weekend games run from Jan. 12 to March 15. To register, call (360) 779-9898.
