Spartans, Bucs golfers battle in mixed conditions

The Bainbridge and Kingston golf teams battled mixed weather conditions at Wing Point Golf Course March 27, with the Spartans winning both matches.

The Bainbridge boys team defeated Kingston 164-201. Dane Byers led the Spartans with a 38 for nine holes. Despite being the fifth golfer on the roster, Anderson Wicklund finished second for the winners with a 40. Andrew Grinter shot a 41, Tyson Brase and Rainer Richardson each shot 45, and Andrew Jobes finished with a 46. Kingston’s Viet Tran and Avery Berger tied for first for that team, both shooting 48. Lane Curtis fell a stroke behind with a 49, Josh VanHuis finished with a 56, Ryley Leibold shot a 60 and Kinoa Panliagao a 72.

The Kingston girls did not participate against Bainbridge. However, the Spartan girls played the back nine holes with Grace Charintranont leading the way with a 38 through the nine holes. Sara Kreigh followed up with a 51, Clara Kang a 52, Tabor Houghtaling shot a 59 and Clarice Telschow and Emma Adcock each shot 65.
