TACOMA — The South Kitsap girls topped all others in the two-mile varsity races at the 20th Bellarmine Invitational on Sept. 8.

The girls finished with 96 points, 31 points ahead of second-place Holy Names Academy and 49 points ahead of third-place Redmond. The boys varsity team finished third in their race behind Redmond and Gonzaga Prep.

Freshman Ashley Sciocchetti was the top runner for the South Kitsap girls, finishing in seventh place overall with a time of 12:34.80. Evelyn Collins-Winn (16th), Paxton DePoe (19th) and Kristina Ihlen (21st) all finished in the top 25 in the field of 116 finishers.

Jacob Laws was the top runner on the boys side, finishing in 10:25, which gave him sixth place. Zach Grams finished 12th (10:35.40) and Kevin McDermott took 24th (10:48.40).
