South Kitsap football | Fall Sports Preview

FOOTBALL

Head coach: Cory Vartanian

2017 record: 0-10 (0-8)

Key players: Dajshon Keel, Sr., WR/DB; Matthew Burns, Sr., RB/LB; Tyson Carter, Jr., RB; Ethan Fragoso, so., OL/DL; Zowie Pangelinan, Jr., OL/DL; Hezekiah Moore, Jr., QB.

Outlook: A full off-season of work for both the players and coaching staff should bring about some positive changes for the Wolves despite graduating a good amount of starters last season. The schedule isn’t getting easier anytime soon, with games against two ranked opponents — Graham-Kapowsin and Sumner — and a third, Puyallup, that beat both of those teams last year and won the SPSL. But unlike last year, South Kitsap gets the softest part of the schedule in September, which should help the team ease into the season.

Schedule:

Sept. 14, 7 p.m., Curtis

Sept. 21, 7 p.m. at Emerald Ridge

Sept. 28, 7 p.m., Bellarmine Prep

Oct. 5, 7 p.m. at Graham-Kapowsin

Oct. 12, 7 p.m., Puyallup

Oct. 19, 7 p.m., at Olympia

Oct. 26, 7 p.m. at Battle Ground.
