ABERDEEN — The Silverdale Reign won the girls U12 Recreational Division state fastpitch tournament last weekend in Aberdeen.
The Reign lost its first game Saturday, but battled back to win five consecutive games Sunday. The team also won the U10 state tournament in 2007.
Carly Bergsma, Emily Slate, Madison Snellenberg, Taylor Jones, Katie Whitehead, Hannah Fergus, Sydney Bayshore and Starr Rodenhurst made key contributions.
The all-star team included Amanda Shultz, Maddie White, Sam Williams and Tiffany Farrell. Reign pitcher White was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
Coached by Mark Bergsma and Jeff White, the Reign finished 30-3.
