POFC announces first matches

The Port Orchard Football Club has unveiled the dates of its first inaugural regular season match and a friendly match that will serve as a fundraiser toward supporting South Kitsap youth soccer.

The club announced on social media March 6 that it will host Steel United FC on May 7 at 3 p.m. The match will be played at Kitsap Bank Stadium. This is the first of an anticipated 10-match season in the Cascadia Premier League.

The next day, the club announced it would host Nido Aguila Seattle 2 April 30. The match is being advertised as free admission, but donations will be collected by the South Kitsap Soccer Club and South Kitsap United for improvements to soccer fields at Veterans Memorial Park. The friendly will also be hosted at Kitsap Bank Stadium at 3 p.m.

“Our kids can slosh around in the mud with the best of them,” POFC club coordinator David Falk said, “but why should they have to.”
