Olympic teams, along with CK and Crosspoint girls head to regionals

Four local teams — three girls and one boys — are still in the hunt for a state playoff berth as the regional tournaments get underway this weekend.

Four local teams — three girls and one boys  — are still in the hunt for a state playoff berth as the regional tournaments get underway this weekend.

Regional playoff action kicks off Feb. 27 and Feb. 28 for the Central Kitsap, Olympic and Crosspoint Academy girls and Olympic boys.

The CK girls will face Lynnwood at 6 p.m. Feb. 28, at the Everett Community College in the Class 3A regionals in a loser-out game.

The winner will play on March 5 at the state tournament at the Tacoma Dome.

In Class 2A, the Olympic girls will play Mark Morris of Longview at 6 p.m. Feb. 27, at the W.F. West High School in Chehalis. The winner will play March 5 at the state tournament at the Yakima Valley Sun Dome.

The Olympic boys will face East Valley of Yakima at 2 p.m. Feb. 28 at Eisenhower High School in Yakima. The winner will play March 5 at the state tournament at the Yakima Valley Sun Dome.

The Crosspoint Academy girls will travel to Mount Tacoma High School Feb. 28 to play Shoreline Christian in a 10 a.m. in Class 1B play. The winner play March 5 at the state tournament at Spokane Veteran’s Memorial Arena.

The state championships are March 7.
