Olympic Baseball | Spring Sports Preview

HEAD COACH: Nate Andrews

2016-17 RECORD: 13-12

TOP RETURNING PLAYERS: Dylan Heino, Cale Dower, Keaton Dean, Evan Turnquist, Kylen Pereira, Elijah Trottman, Taylor Andrews.

KEY NEWCOMERS: Logan O’Neil, Charlie Hennessy, Aidan Ortega, Jared Geier, Brayden Buchanan.

OUTLOOK: Olympic High School averaged nearly eight runs per game last year and scored double-digits in nine of 19 regular season games. When asked if fans can expect the same offensive output this year, head coach Nate Andrews said that he hopes so, though it depends mostly on how well pitchers in the league perform. North Kitsap High School, Port Angeles and Sequim all finished ahead of the Trojans last season, with Kingston trailing right behind. Andrews said he thinks Kingston might surprise some people this year while NK and PA will again be the teams to beat. “But as always, we’ll get after it with anyone,” he said.
