FEDERAL WAY — North Kitsap sophomore Serita Solis pulled off two, top eight finishes during the 2A Girls State Swim & Dive Championships Nov. 16.
Solis finished fifth in the 100-Yard Butterfly with a finish time of 1 minute 3.08 seconds.
The fifth place finish was .08 seconds ahead of Fife’s Kiana Dorris and 1.44 seconds behind Capital’s Madeline Hoffman. Klahowya’s Kelsey Crane finished the Butterfly in 57.77 seconds.
Prior to her fifth place Buterfly finish, Solis took seventh in the 50-Yard Freestyle. Solis finished in 25.88 seconds,07 seconds behind Pullman’s Rose Jao. West Valley’s Caitlyn Quaempts took first in 24.41 seconds.
The championships are held at the King County Aquatic Center.
Gallagher takes sixth in Breaststroke
North Kitsap’s Ellie Gallagher finished sixth in the 100-Yard Breaststroke,
The sophomore swimmer finished closely behind Kingston’s Kathleen Andersen with a time of 1:11.63.
Ellensberg’s Taylor Wilson took first in 1:08.29.
200 Medley team takes eighth
Four underclassman worked together for an eighth place finish during the 200-Yard Medley Relay.
Hannah Uffens, Gallagher, Solis, and Meg Olson finished in 2:00.62. The relay team finish one second behind Sehome.
Pullman’s relay team took first in 1:53.62.
