Seven Kitsap teams competed in the Lil’ Norway Invitational track and field meet April 19 at North Kitsap High School, which honored former Vikings track coach Dave Snyder, who passed away last year at the age of 54.

Kitsap teams that competed included NK, Bainbridge, Central Kitsap, Bremerton, Kingston and Klahowya. Before the meet began, everyone participating did an honorary lap around the track to remember Snyder.

”The meet was a huge success,” NK coach Ryan Ferenci said. Both of our teams (boys and girls) performed very well and I am very proud of them.”

Results:

– Bainbridge placed first in the men’s distance medley (10:38.74) and women’s distance medley (13:02.78).

– The NK team of Lathan Becoats, Luke Ryan, Jackson Jacobsen, and Treylin Bell achieved a meet record in the men’s 4×200 event with a time of 1:33.42.

– Bainbridge Spartan Sabi Hartenstine placed first overall in the women’s 100-meter hurdles (33 inches) event with a score of 16.30 and second overall in the 300-meter hurdles (30 inches) event with a score of 46.49.

– NK Viking Calina Morgan placed second overall in the women’s 100-meter event with a time of 12.85.

– CK Cougar Mana Voss (4:16.48) and Bremerton Knight Dallin Anderson (4:21.14) both secured meet records in the men’s 1600-meter event.

– NK Viking Solomon Furne placed second overall in the men’s 300-meter hurdles (36 inches) event with a score of 42.86.

– CK Cougar David McCain placed first in the men’s 800-meter with a time of 1:58.73.

– Bremerton Knight Isaiah Cadengo placed third in the men’s 200-meter with a score of 22.27.

– Spartan Cate Torrell earned first place in the women’s 200-meter with a score of 25.84.

– CK Cougars Taylor Palmer (10:59.94) and Audra Palmer (11:11.74) both earned meet records in the women’s 3200-meter, placing first and third, respectively.

– The Bremerton team of Isaiah Addison, Isaiah Cadengo, Dallin Anderson, and Hawkin Ernst earned a meet record of 3:28.32 for the men’s 4×400 meter event.

– The CK team of Lihliana Jevne, Aaliyah Gaulden, Taylor Palmer, and Audra Palmer earned first place in the women’s 4×400 meter event with a time of 4:11.29.

– Bremerton Knight Aaron Culler placed first overall in the men’s long jump with a score of 21-03. and first overall in high jump with a score of 6-00.

– NK Viking James Rebman placed first overall in the men’s javelin throw with a score of 160-06.

– Bremerton Knight Rylee Wheaton placed first overall in the women’s shot put (4kg), scoring 38-09.50.

– CK Cougar Danielle Kouamo placed first overall in the women’s discus event, scoring 120-05.
