SILVERDALE — Klahowya won the Narrows/Olympic Conference lacrosse title, finishing the regular season at least two games ahead of Vashon.

Klahowya (11-1-0) was scheduled to close out its regular season May 11 at South Kitsap (4-7-0) before hosting Inglemoor (4-10-0) in the first round of playoffs.

Klahowya clinched home-field advantage for the first-round playoff game with a 10-8 win over Vashon on May 4.

According to the game report

Both teams played a tight first quarter, but the Eagles edged out Vashon with a goal by Joe Hawley. Vashon scored first in the second quarter to tie the score. The Eagles’ Austin Keller and Hawley owned the rest of the quarter, scoring three unanswered goals, the first by Hawley on a  Keller assist. Keller scored the next two with Hawley assisting the third to end the score at the half Eagles 4, Vashon 1.

The Eagles pulled ahead with two unanswered goals to start the third quarter scored by Roque Blas and Justin Anderson. Vashon did not give up, making the game interesting and scoring four unanswered goals by Max Schira, Dawit Tuller-Ross, Elliot Carleton and Kiryk Mozelski to close the gap to 1.

The Eagles answered with 1 scored by Keller on a Torsten Robinson assist to end the third quarter Eagles 7 Vashon 5.

Each team scored three in the fourth. The Eagles’ defense played a stellar game with key turnovers throughout the game. Goalie Kyle Bergmann had 14 saves; defenders Myles Crawford had 8 ground balls, Torsten Robinson had 6, and Collin Deutscher had 4.

Other playoffs

In 1A Baseball, Klahowya lost to Seattle Christian 10-1 on May 7 in the first-round of the West Central District 3 tournament.

In 2A Baseball, Olympic defeated Tyee 15-0 on May 7 in the first round of the West Central/SeaKing 2A Baseball Tournament. Olympic lost 6-5 to Fife later in the day to move to a loser-out game at 4 p.m. May 11 at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds. With a win, Olympic has a chance at fifth or sixth.

Bremerton was ousted from the district tournament with an 8-0 loss to Fife and a 5-0 loss to Tyee.   Bremerton finished the regular season 6-6 and tied for fourth in the Olympic League.

In 1A boys soccer, undefeated Klahowya shutout Vachon 3-0 on May 10 to advance to the championship game against Charles Wright Academy, 7:30 p.m. May 12 in Orting.

In boys track, Klahowya — which finished the regular season 4-5 — won the Olympic League championship meet with a score of 122, outdistancing No. 2 North Kitsap, 94; and No. 3 Olympic, 92.

Overall, 11 teams competed in the meet May 9 at North Kitsap.

In 1A girls softball, Klahowya opens the West Central District 3 tournament against Nisqually’s No. 3 team at 6 p.m. May 20 at Sprinker Fields in Tacoma.

In 2A girls softball, Olympic faces the Seamount League’s No. 2 team in the West Central/SeaKing tournament at noon May 20 at Sprinker Fields.

In girls track, Olympic finished the regular season 12-0-0 to claim the top of the Olympic League standings. But Klahowya and Port Townsend scored 84 points to share first place at the Olympic League championship meet, May 9 at North Kitsap.
