The Klahowya boys lacrosse team erased a three-goal deficit, forced two second-half ties but yielded a game-deciding goal with 1:05 left in regulation, falling 10-9 to Stadium in its season-opener at Central Kitsap Junior High School Wednesday.

Stadium’s 6-3 halftime advantage fizzled to a 6-6 tie in the third quarter, leading to a 9-9 tie late in the fourth before the clinching goal.

Senior Dan Zimny led the Eagles with five goals and an assist and junior Neil Sell added three goals. KSS’ Chad Reeder, a senior, tallied 20 saves in goal.

The Eagles face North Kitsap at Strawberry Field in Poulsbo at 5 p.m. today.
