Kingston Boys Swimming | Winter Sports Preview

Head coach: Mark VanHuis

2018-2019 record: 7-0 (6-0 OLY)

Key swimmers: Rocco Velie, so.; Evan Yamane, jr.; Charlie Near, Zawadi Leon, Benji Eudeline, Tyler Lanning, Alex McCollum, Nathan Smith, Sean Grant, Colin Longbons, Will Mixon, Curtis Upton, McLean Bowers, Reeve Jensen, Alex Langland, Skyler Tafil.

Outlook: Velie is a swimmer to watch here — he finished fourth in the state in the 200 IM, fifth in the 500 freestyle and he also swam a leg of the state champion 200 medley relay team. The Bucs will look a little different this year, as the remaining core of the teams that put Kingston on the map over the past few years has graduated, but this program is still deep and strong and should have plenty of postseason success.

Schedule: Dec. 10, 3 p.m., Klahowya | Dec. 12, 3 p.m., Sequim | Jan. 9, 3 p.m., Bremerton | Jan. 16, 3 p.m. at Port Angeles | Jan. 23, 3 p.m. at Olympic | Jan. 30, 3 p.m., North Kitsap | Jan. 31, noon, Last Chance Meet at Olympic.
