Central Kitsap junior Drew Vettleson hit two grand slams to help the Cougars blast Stadium 20-3 at home in Narrows League action Monday. CK (12-5 overall, 10-2 league), which hit six home runs, has scored 10 runs or more in each of its past four games — all wins — to boost its winning streak to five. Vettleson, who recently committed to Oregon State University, finished with a team-high eight RBI.

Josh Winkler, Nate Roberts, Casey Bohlmann, Howie McDonald and Kyle Kunkel each had two hits for CK, which visits Stadium at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

In Olympic League action, Olympic edged Port Angeles 5-3 on the road to stay atop the league’s muddled standings — the Trojans, Klahowya, Kingston and North Kitsap are separated by just one loss with about two weeks remaining in the regular season.

The Trojans (11-5, 10-3) broke the game open with four runs in the top of the fifth inning, giving starting pitcher Joe Stevick enough run support to secure the victory.

The team hosts Kingston in a pivotal game at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Klahowya, meanwhile, stayed in the Olympic League title hunt with a 7-6 victory over Sequim on the road Monday.

The Eagles (11-4, 10-3) built an early lead thanks to a four-run first, eventually taking a 7-5 lead into the bottom of the seventh. Sequim cut that lead in half, making it 7-6, but stranded the would-be tying run at third base.

KSS hosts Port Angeles at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Fastpitch

Central Kitsap improved its winning streak to five games with a 6-2 victory against Bellarmine Prep on the road Monday.

The Lady Cougars (9-2, 7-1) scored four runs in the top of the sixth to break a 2-2 tie, helping starting pitcher Carolyn Cross, who was 1-for-3 at the plate, to the victory.

Naomi Stocks finished 3-for-4 with two RBI and Jenna Bartlett was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI.

CK hosts Stadium at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

In the Olympic League, Port Angeles used a three-run first inning and a four-run third to beat visiting Olympic 7-1 Monday.

The Lady Trojans (4-11, 3-9) managed five hits, scoring their lone run in the top of the seventh.

The team hosts Kingston at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Klahowya, also in action Monday, lost to Sequim on the road, 9-8, despite out-hitting the Lady Wolves 13 to eight.

With the game tied 6-6 in the bottom of the fourth, Sequim scored two runs to make it 8-6. KSS battled back to tie it 8-8, but Chelsea Winfield hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh to push across the winning run.

The Lady Eagles host Port Angles at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
