CK wins league; 2 other Kitsap teams also qualify for districts

Three local teams, along with two individuals, qualified for the district bowling tournment at the Olympic League and South Sound Conference girls bowling league championships Jan. 18 at All Star Lanes in Silverdale.

The top three teams in each league, along with the top six bowlers on non-advancing teams, qualified for districts.

The Sequim Wolves won the Olympic League with 2,573 pins, Klahowya finished second with 2,545 and Bremerton finished third with 2,495. Olympic missed the cut in fourth with 2,486 pins.

Salina Stroup was the top Eagle bowler, finishing second with 483 pins. Neveah Glance finished third with 477, Ray Ventura 18th with 369, Tatum Robbins 23rd with 354 and Alle Corn 24th with 352.

Bremerton’s Lauren Rigby finished fifth with 448 pins, Jaiden Pruitt 12th with 419, Edyn Weekman 17th with 374 and Ileah Tang 22nd with 357.

Olympic’s Lilly Converse and Joslyn Kettering qualified for districts as individuals. Converse finished seventh with 438 pins and Kettering ninth with 430. In addition for that squad, Aryen Schrock finished 21st with 367, Kate Castillo 24th with 352 and Mars Pearson 28th with 332.

Meanwhile, Central Kitsap will head to districts as a team after winning the South Sound Conference 3A title with 2,801 pins through three individual and four baker games. Cougar Tayler Lindstrom was the top bowler in the league, scoring 531 pins in three games, including a high of 188.

Jade Mari Casal finished eighth with 447 pins, Aiyona Hagins ninth with 446, Mya Hagge 14th with 404, Ferrah Capas 17th with 398 and Maya Ranada and Liz Suarez finished 46th.
