Central Kitsap burnt Wilson with a fiery offensive attack en route to a 55-21 win at Silverdale Stadium Thursday.

With the win, the Cougars (6-3, 6-2) have now won four straight games (6-3, 6-2) and secured a playoff berth and third place in the Narrows League.

Combined with a 56-14 road win against Stadium Oct. 24, CK leapt Bellarmine Prep and Mount Tahoma in the league standings over the last two weeks of the regular season to make the playoffs.

Senior running back Howard McDonald again anchored CK’s offense, piling up 92 yards on 10 carries, while quarterback Jason Simonis was efficient and effective, completing 9 of 14 passes for 199 yards and four touchdowns.

The playoffs begin Saturday, Nov. 8 and CK faces either Snohomish or Lake Stevens. Those teams played last night — results were unavailable at press time — and the Cougars play the winner, the WesCo North No.2 team, on the road.

Olympic extended its win streak to three games by knocking off 10th-ranked North Kitsap 26-24 at Silverdale Stadium Oct. 24.

Junior running back Larry Dixon rushed for 177 yards on 24 carries, while senior Garrett Brown added 149 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. After an 0-5 start, the Trojans were just two games below .500 (3-5 overall, 3-3 league) entering last night’s Homecoming game against Bremerton.

The Vikings fell to third place in the 3A Olympic/Western League, behind Capital (5-3, 5-1) and Timberline (6-2, 5-1).

A playoff berth is not out of the question for Olympic, though it needed help last night. The Trojans would finish 4-3 in league play with a win against Bremerton.

Sixth-ranked Steilacoom (8-0, 5-0) breezed past Klahowya 41-14 Oct. 24 to hand the Eagles (3-5, 1-4) another league loss in what’s been a disappointing season. No box score was reported.

KSS finishes the regular season at home today against Eatonville. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
