Central Kitsap Softball | Spring Sports Preview

HEAD COACH: Courtney Cotter

2016-17 RECORD: 4-14

TOP RETURNING PLAYERS: Zee Young, senior; Calli Frisinger, senior; Melina Polzin, senior.

KEY NEWCOMERS: Paris Agana, freshman; Annika Freund, freshman; Tessa Jepsen, freshman; Brooke Mimaki, freshman; Sydney Wallis, freshman.

OUTLOOK: Last spring was difficult for a program that is used to having talented pitchers, head coach Courtney Cotter said. It was tough for kids who found out the hard way, she said, that they need to put in the extra time outside of high school ball. Cotter said she had to “create some pitchers” last season to remedy the issue, but her young team is coming back with a very talented offense and “eager freshmen” that have been working hard and putting in the time to get back to the program’s winning roots.
