John Kuntz, owner of Olympic Outdoor Center in Port Gamble, thanks the many volunteers who helped make the Kitsap Peninsula Water Trail come to fruition Aug. 4 at Mike Wallace Park in Kingston.

The water trail was dedicated following the first stretch of Paddle Kitsap, from Poulsbo to Kingston. Kuntz, one of the driving forces for the water trail along with the North Kitsap Trails Association, said the trail is a “gold medal” for the area.
