BHS wrestling beats Kingston, falls to Bremerton

The Bainbridge wrestling team traveled to Kingston Jan. 24 and beat the Bucs 40-12, but lost to Bremerton 44-31.

Spartan Natalie Noel made her season debut against Bremerton’s Nolan Gregor at 113 pounds, but Gregor pinned Noel in the third period.

Bainbridge forfeited at 120 and 126 pounds, but then Spartan Retto Peato began a six-match win streak, defeating Knight Leo Wakanobo by injury default at 132 pounds.

In the next five matches, Baha Ali won 18-2 against Yzahr Fang at 138 pounds, Tyler Dodge defeated Logan Malner 7-1 at 144 pounds, Zane Turner pinned Juan Littleraven-Oliver at 150 pounds, Wyatt Chabot pinned Owen Schmick at 157 pounds and Garrett Goade won 16-1 at 175 pounds.

After a few more forfeits, the Knights ended with a victory at heavyweight as Arian Tittle pinned Spartan Orlando Santos-Gonzales.

Noel began the match against Kingston with a forfeit at 113 pounds. The Bucs picked up a pair of forfeits in between the next match.

Peato pinned Hannah Weaver, Ali won 22-11 against John Trescott, Dodge won by forfeit, Turner pinned Liam Nickerson, and Goade pinned Manny Moore. At the heavyweights, Kingston’s Gavin Garner pinned Santos-Gonzales.
