OH — Melissa Liechty, Central Kitsap — Liechty has had no problem filling the shoes of Lindsey Fryer, leading the county with 264 kills this season. Just a junior, she also recorded 181 digs and 29 aces for the Bridge Division champs.
OH — Hannah Stuart, Bainbridge Island — This junior led the team with 251 kills and tied with Sabrina Tan in digs with 262 and was a vital part of the Spartans run to state.
MH — Ericka Dormous, South Kitsap — The junior was in the middle of the Wolves turn around season, leading the team with more than 197 kills and 38 blocks to go along with 59 digs and 16 aces. Her mobility around the court set her apart from most of the league’s other hitters.
MB — Brianna Gregory, Bremerton — On a team where experience was at a premium, Gregory led the Knights in the middle with 198 kills and 75 blocks. The junior stepped up this year and will need to do it again next season as Bremerton’s fate will rest on her shoulders.
Setter — Alli Weisbarth, Central Kitsap — Weisbarth established herself as one of the better setters in Narrows League history this season, leading the league with 480 assists, and broke the career assists mark at Central Kitsap.
Libero — Theresia Dever, Central Kitsap — Set a new school record with 386 digs, which was also tops in the county. Just a sophomore, Dever will have plenty of opportunities to increase those numbers.
Coach — Julie Miller, Bainbridge Island — Her steady leadership helped the team score a Metro League Mountain Division title, a second place finish at the Metro League tournament, a fourth place finish at districts and a fourth straight trip to State.
Honorable mentions
Shannon Sumner, Central Kitsap — Sumner kept CK’s offense moving with 135 kills, 232 digs and 28 aces in a strong all-around season.
Tara Patton, KSS — Just a freshman, Patton recorded 96 kills, 28 aces, 25 blocks and 96 digs in a very nice all-around debut season.
Joyce Vaiaga’e, South Kitsap — The heart and soul of the Wolves and their vocal leader. Vee, as she is known, had 72 kills, 16 aces and 14 blocks.
Marijke Schwarz-Smith, Bainbridge Island — The junior was third in kills with 132, second in aces with 24 and third in blocks with 29.
Kearney Bangs, North Kitsap — Led the Vikings in assists with 386 and also dropped in 33 service aces.
Leah Brumm, Olympic — With 117 kills, 26 aces and 48 blocks, Brumm was a consistent force up front for the Trojans.
Colby Thatcher, Bremerton — The senior co-captain was key in the middle for the Knights with 153 kills and 35 aces and has gotten looks from local Division I and II schools.
Celeste Canode, Central Kitsap — A perfect example of CK’s depth, she led the Cougars in blocks with 42 while providing solid defense.
Lindsey Webel, Olympic — Another of the Trojan’s youngsters, Webel led her team with 137 kills and 35 aces.
Tricia Brown, KSS — Brown helped the Eagles continue to turn around the program, as her 165 assists led Klahowya to finish with its best season yet at 5-11.
K.C. Fossum, North Kitsap — Was deadly for North at the net with 205 kills. She also smacked 26 aces for the year.
Sabrina Tan, Bainbridge Island — The senior co-captain tied with Stuart in digs and aces with 50.
Megan Spence, King’s West — While the Warriors struggled, Spence lead them with 120 kills with 74 digs.
Ashley Youngs, South Kitsap — Lead the team in assists with 285 while chipping in with 32 blocks, 44 kills and 30 service aces.
