Rainer Meyer is well on his way to Ironman status this season after his performance at the Central Kitsap School District swim meet this week.
An Ironman is any swimmer who qualifies for the state meet in all eight individual events. Meyer crossed two times off his list at the CKSD meet — the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle.
Meyer swam the top time in the 50, finishing the race in 22.45 seconds. He finished second in the 100-yard freestyle, but his time of 49.33 seconds was still good enough to give him a state qualification.
