North Kitsap High School sophomore Bethany Aban placed ninth in the 100-yard breaststroke at the girls 3A state swim meet in Federal Way Saturday. She finished the race with a time of 1 minute, 11.43 seconds.

Aban also competed in the 100-yard butterfly finals, and placed 15th, with a time of 1:03.30.

Aban qualified for Saturday’s finals by placing 10th in the 100-yard breaststroke preliminaries Friday, with a time of 1:11.97. She also placed 15th in the 100-yard butterfly preliminaries, with a time of 1:02.34.
