Ten years ago on May 16, the doors opened at Bremerton Ice Arena. In attendance was Olympic Gold Medalist Apolo Ohno, who celebrated the arena’s grand opening.

Since May 16, 2003, thousands upon thousands of Kitsap residents have experienced the joy of ice. From Day One, the rink has offered fun activities and competitive sports. Locals enjoy youth and adult hockey, figure skating, public skating, birthday parties, and more.

I encourage anyone who has not visited the arena at 1950 Homer Jones Road in Manette to do so. As Wayne Gretzky said 10 years ago, “To all of you in Kitsap County, learn to play hockey today at Bremerton Ice Arena. You won’t regret it!”
