While many of our readers are used to a Wednesday and Saturday CK Reporter, and have been for many years, today’s issue is the first of a once-a-week only CK Reporter.

Whether we like it or not, change is inevitable. But the key to accepting change, and even embracing it, is to look at it for its positive qualities. That’s what we’re doing here at the Central Kitsap Reporter. While many of our readers are used to a Wednesday and Saturday CK Reporter, and have been for many years, today’s issue is the first of a once-a-week only CK Reporter. For those longtime readers, you may remember a time when it only came out on Saturdays.

And although it may be a little strange not getting a Wednesday

CK Reporter, there are some great things that will come from this change. One of the greatest pluses of going to Saturdays only is a much bigger paper. Gone are the days of an eight-pager. Your new CK Reporter will be twice the size and full of the community news you’ve come to expect. The paper will still feature local CK news on schools, sports, businesses, parks, events and more.

Most noticeable to readers is the new look of the CK Reporter, which is a big change, but we’re confident you’ll appreciate the new design. The new format mirrors that of our sister paper, the Kitsap Free Daily. Many will find that the new format is reader-friendly, a pick-up-and-go kind of paper that’s easy to read, whether you’re on the ferry or at your kitchen table.

The Reporter’s new look also allows for far more color on more pages than in previous issues. We love having bright, colorful photos on the front page, but that wasn’t always possible before. We’re excited to get more color, more often and not only on the front page, but throughout the entire paper.

Change is among us here at the CK Reporter, and while we know our deep roots in the community will continue to grow, we know that change is what will give us the branches to reach those new heights.
