Wilma M. Oas, 83

Poulsbo resident Wilma M. Oas died Nov. 20, 2006 in Bremerton. She was 83.

Oas was born to Roy V. and Evelyn (Gehrman) Waghorn in West Seattle on April 8, 1923.

She married Jack P. Oas on May 27, 1951 in Tacoma.

She attended North Kitsap High School.

Oas was a lifelong homemaker, but she served as a torpedo worker at the Keyport Torpedo Station during World War II. She also cooked for the North Kitsap School District for 20 years.

She was a member of Vinland Lutheran Church in Poulsbo and enjoyed cooking, painting landscapes, traveling and crafts of all kinds.

Oas is survived by her son Jim (Valerie) Oas of Poulsbo; daughters Terry (Ken) Forslund of Puyallup and Debbie (John) McKeever of Kingston; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Oas in 1999.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Nov. 29 at Vinland Lutheran Church in Poulsbo. Burial will follow at Breidablik Cemetery in Poulsbo.
