William Karr

William H. Karr of Kingston died May 5 of complications from a motorcycle collision with a deer. He was 74.

Karr was born on July 5, 1935, in Seattle and lived with his family in Kingston since 1974. He was a graduate of Ballard High School and the University of Washington. He taught junior high science in Seattle, was a house painter, and was active in the Bainbridge and Bremerton Symphonies.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marilyn; his daughter Marci of San Francisco; two sons: Chris, of Kingston, and Ron, of California; four grandchildren; and his brother Chuck. He was preceded in death by his eldest son Steven.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 23, at Suquamish United Church of Christ, where he was a member.
