Verna Beatty, 93

Verna Beatty died Aug. 20, 2006 in Poulsbo. She was 93.

Beatty was born to George and Sally (Davis) Rothell in Tacoa, Ga. on Feb. 17, 1913.

She married William Beatty.

Beatty worked as an administrative assistant for the Novato School District and Sonoma State University.

She was a member of the Novato and Petaluma branches of the Church of Christ, and enjoyed gardening, golfing and growing vegetables and flowers.

Beatty is survived by her daughters Maria Thomas of Santa Rosa, Calif. and Carmen (John) Hassold of Poulsbo; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one step-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Beatty.

No formal services will be held.
