Tom LeRoy Voltin, 73

Tom LeRoy Voltin, 73, of Poulsbo died on Aug. 22. He was born on Sept. 12, 1934, in Ray, N.D., to Curtis and Laura Voltin. Voltin married Rita Kinney on Sept. 5, 1970, in Poulsbo. He earned his GED in 1998.

Voltin served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-57. He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 35 years and retired in 1990.

He loved fishing, bowling, hunting, shooting pool and wood working. He enjoyed building bird houses. Many of Voltin’s bird houses were purchased and taken to their new homes across the world. He enjoyed the outside critters and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Rita of Poulsbo; sons, Kenny Voltin (Odetta), Curtis Voltin and Johnny Sinclair; daughters, Laura Jones (Leon), Tammy Gemeny and Lea Rendell (John); 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. At his request, there will be no formal services. Lewis Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. An online memorial can be seen at www.lewischapel.com.
